LYNN — Edward W. McDonough and Claire (Martel) McDonough of Lynn and Spring Hill, Fla.
Edward William McDonough and Claire (Martel) McDonough were born and raised in Lynn. Both attended Lynn schools. Edward left Lynn Tech to serve in the Navy during WWII. Claire worked at GE in Lynn after graduating from St. Mary’s. Married on June 28, 1947, they raised a family of seven children, and were co-owners of McDonough’s Wrought Iron & Fence Company of Salem. They moved to Florida in 1981, and enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement together. Edward passed away March 16, 1996. Claire lived on in Spring Hill until her death on December 15, 2016. They are survived by seven loving children: Joyce M. McDonough, Rochester, N.Y.; Jeffrey McDonough, Beverly; Julie A. McDonough, Salem; Janice R. McDonough, Dartmouth; Jody B. McDonough (Robert Rosata), Scituate; Jacquie Coté (Todd Burton), Albuquerque; and Jennifer McDonough (David Barnaby), Albuquerque, N.M., six grandchildren, Emma Griffin, Alicia McDonough, Sydney Hawes, Cameron Rosata, Oriana McDonough and April Burton, two great-grandchildren, two brothers Richard Martel, Temecula, Calif., Robert Martel, Bullhead, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.
