LYNN — Janice B. (Ross) Greeley, age 72 and a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away in the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, N.H., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.
Born in Chelsea, Jan was the daughter of the late Lorey W. and Anna May (Souza) Ross. She was raised and educated in Lynn. Jan worked for many years as a waitress and food server for area restaurants including Lori Lee’s as well as the Capital Diner. More recently, she worked as a concierge specialist for Crystal Cove in Weymouth until her retirement in June of 2016.
Jan had many passions in life but nothing compared to her love for camping. A 40 year veteran of both camping and fishing, she loved spending time in Mill Brook RV Park in Kingston, N.H. Jan was also artsy and loved to craft. She also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods to play the slots as well as the occasional Keno wager.
A warm and kind woman, Jan will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas F. Greeley, with whom she spent over 40 years in love together until Tom’s passing in July of 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Chalmers and her significant other, Keith Guerreiro, of Maine, Kelly Greenwell and her husband, Rick, of Michigan, Cathy Ringle of Chelmsford, and Bobbi Tremblay and her significant other, James Dionne of Peabody. Janice was Nana to: Lyndsey, Tom, Art, Justin, Aaron, Adam and Alex, and Great-Nana to: Paxton, Michael and Madison. She also leaves her brothers: Richard Ross of Texas and Earl Ross of Lynn, her very dear friends: Barbara Ross of Lynn and James Houde of Hudson, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jan was also preceded in death by her siblings: Everett Ross, Bobby Ross and Doody McCarthy.
Service information: A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 3-6:30 p.m. Interment services will be held privately.
