LYNN — Barbara Jean (Bigelow) Malloy, 58, of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in Portland, Maine, while vacationing with her family in the White Mountains.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Marie J. (Boyle) Bigelow. Barbara was the beloved wife of 33 years of Raymond C. Malloy Jr., the devoted mother of the late Shaun Bigelow, Jesse and Debra Malloy, Michael Malloy and Lisa Fallis, Sarah and Josue Flores, Lauren Malloy and Emmanuel Ripley, Kelley Malloy and Ryan Felize and stepmother to Kirsten Malloy and Sasha Alexandre Sazonov, the cherished grandmother of Audriana, Priscilla, Kayla, Connor, Brady, Dylan, Liam, Charlotte, Cameron, Gavin, Lukas, Sanjaya, Nova and Seraphim, the dear sister of Ann Smith and her husband, Russel, Michael Bigelow, and the late William Bigelow, all of Lynn, the daughter-in-law of Anna Marie Malloy and the late Raymond C. Malloy Sr., and the aunt of Erin, Marc, Ariel, Amanda, Shawn, Darren and Daniel.
Barbara was all about family. Her smile was real and genuine. She always found sweet things to say. She loved children and they loved to see their “Grammie.” Barbara was in intense pain for much of the last few years but she would still find ways to uplift the grandchildren with compliments, “that is a great ‘pony’ for your hair,” “I just love your pretty shoes.” She is loved dearly, and will be sorely missed.
Service information: Barbara’s funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 8 S. Common St., Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, from 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
