Robert J. McDuff, 70

LYNN — Mr. Robert J. McDuff, 70 years, of Lynn, died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Thomas F. McDuff Jr., and the late Antonio Basile and Dorothy May (Cushing) (McDuff) Basile. He was raised in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He lived in Lynn most of his life.

Mr. McDuff served with the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army. He worked as a Concierge in Lynn apartment buildings. He also worked for the General Electric Company in Lynn many years ago. Mr. McDuff was a member of Narcotics Anonymous and was a friend of Bill W. He helped many people throughout the years.

He is survived by his sons, Patrick T. McDuff and his wife, Colleen, of North Billerica, Kyle J. Cloran, Brandon J. Cloran, and Darryl J. Cloran all of Lynn. He leaves his brother, Joseph F. McDuff and his wife, Marie, of Nahant, his sisters, Patricia M. Basile-O’Hearn and her husband, Michael, of Seabrook, N.H., Dorothy J. Basile and her partner, Joseph Giguere, of Lynn, his former wife, Linda L. Bosley-McDuff of North Billerica the mother of his three sons Denise Cloran of Lynn. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Thomas J. McDuff Sr.

Service information: His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at 11 a.m., in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A) Lynn. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., prior to his funeral.
