LYNN — Police are investigating two robberies that occurred on Sunday.
Police responded to 96 Adams St. shortly after 8:30 a.m. after a masked man robbed Highland Variety at knifepoint, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The man demanded money from the cash register while brandishing a knife. The 49-year-old male clerk opened the register and the suspect took a small amount of cash before fleeing the store, Kmiec said.
The suspect was described as possibly a white man, who was wearing a mask, Kmiec said.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., a 27-year-old Lynn man flagged down nearby officers and told them he was robbed while he was walking toward Mount Hood Terrace from Hutchinsons Court in the High Rock Tower area, Kmiec said.
The victim stated he was either punched or hit over the head with an unknown object, and was robbed of a small amount of cash, a wallet and cellphone. He told police there were three men involved, but had a limited description of the suspects, Kmiec said.
