LYNN — Mr. Randall J. “Randy” Wood, 83 years of Lynn, died on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Claire M. (Lambert) Wood. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Randall E and Laura B. (O’Neil) Wood. He was raised in Dorchester, attended schools and graduated high school there. He moved to Lynn in 1959.
He was employed at Boston Edison and later Eversource. He retired in 1992 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed reading and New England sports.
He is survived by his son Gary Wood of Lynn and his close friend Debbie Eldred and her family of Lynn.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Care Dimensions Hospice for their compassion and attention in the care of Randy.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte.129) Lynn followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to his funeral.
