LYNN — Mr. George F. Beaudet, age 88, of Lynn, died on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Claire M. (Bourgeois) Beaudet, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn in 1929, George was the son of the late Edgar Sr. and Melvina A. (O’Brien) Beaudet. He was raised and educated in Lynn and has been a lifelong resident of Lynn.
He worked as a baker for many years and was well known for the wedding cakes he made. George served for many years in the United States Army Reserve, the Army Reserve National Guard and was an active member of the Franco American War Veterans, Post 12. He was a 4th Degree member and former District Deputy at the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70, Lynn. George and his wife attended many of the events hosted there and he was involved in many of their charitable and social activities. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Claire, George is survived by his children, Karen Desilets and her husband James of Lynn, Cheryl Dellacroce and her late husband Michael Sr. of Saugus and Ken Beaudet and his wife Tracy of Newmarket, N.H.; his grandchildren, Michael Jr., Christopher, Anthony, Nicole and Courtney, his six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edgar Jr. and Eugene Beaudet and Eileen Pierro.
Service information: A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, MA 01904. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visitation will be prior to the memorial service from 10-11 a.m. Donations in George’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
