LYNN — Nicholita “Nikki” (Fintonis) Pavlis, age 97, of Lynn, died peacefully Tuesday at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation, Peabody. She was the wife of the late Vasilios Pavlis.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Paroglou) Fintonis. She had lived in Lynn for the greater part of her life.
Nikki worked, until the age of 75, as a fancy stitcher for 22 years at Benson Shoe Company, and for 14 years at National Stay Co. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn, and was a volunteer at St. George’s Bingo for 20 years. She was a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan, and will be remembered for her flower garden and her great cooking.
Her family would like to thank the staff of the Rosewood Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Peabody, and All Care Hospice of Lynn for taking such good care of our mother. They are truly “Angels” on this earth.
She was the beloved mother of Maria Pavlis of Lynn, and the late John Pavlis, the loving mother-in-law of Melodie Pavlis of St. John, Ind.; the loving grandmother of William Pavlis and his wife Kathy of Orland Park, Ill., and Kimberly Pavlis of Valparaiso, Ind., as well as her three great-grandchildren, Jack, Cloe and Nicolaos. She was the beloved sister of the late Helen Hasevlat and Ernest and Nicholas Fintonis, and the devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Service information: Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn.
