LYNNEverett A. “Ev” Lane, age 93, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at NSMC in Salem.

He was born on Aug. 6, 1923 in Lynn, the son of the late Leon and Etta (Wensley) Lane. He was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School. Ev served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the latter part of WWII in India. He was honorably discharged.

Ev had worked as a cost accountant at the GE River Works and West Lynn Plants, and retired with over 40 years of service.

Ev enjoyed making models, watching sports and movies and cooking. Above all else, he truly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Constance (Courtois) Lane in 2008. He is survived by his son, Brad Lane and wife Beverly of Lynn; his daughters, Donna Galligan and husband Paul of Lynn and Cynthia McManus of Lynn; his grandchildren, Dawn, Casara, Loriann, Tom, Chris, Michelle and Robyn; his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Max, Maggie, Noelle, Patrick, Gage, Paige, Christina and Karissa, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive him. Ev was also predeceased by his son, Steven Lane and his sister, Doris Lane.

Service information: Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Mr. Lane on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at 1 p.m. at CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, MA 01904. Burial with U.S. Army honors will follow the services in Lake View Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Life Care Center of the North Shore, c/o Activities Fund, 111 Birch St., Lynn, MA 01902.
