LYNN — Donald Herbert Harvey, 85, a longtime Lynn resident, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Born and educated in Long Island, N.Y., Donald was the son of the late Richard and Frances (Snow) Harvey. He was the beloved husband of 20 years of Joan (Jarmilowicz) Harvey and of 29 years of the late Eleanor (Colella) Harvey; the loving father of Michael Harvey and his wife Yuhong “Jennie” Tang of Florida and Paul Harvey of Lynn; step father of April Ferreira and her husband, Duarte of North Andover; the cherished grandfather of Liam, Colin, Owen and Justin; the dear brother of the late Richard Harvey, Edith Weatherford, Virginia Comeau and Frances Brannan; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Donald served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was an insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance Co., for many years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, exercising, football and the Red Sox. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Lynn, a longtime member of St. Mary’s Parish in Lynn and a member of the Goldfish Pond Association.
Service information: Donald’s funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
