Henry N. Donovan, 77

Bedford, N.H.Henry Noah Donovan, 77, Bedford, N.H., formerly of Lynn and Beverly, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Henry was born Dec. 22, 1938, in New Brunswick, N.J., the adopted son of Walter and Ethel Donovan. He attended schools in Oak Hill, Fla., and joined the U.S. Navy in 1956, where he served four years with the 1st Naval District in Boston, aboard the USS Forrest Sherman. While in the Navy, he met his bride, Jean Sandra Brewster and married Aug. 22, 1959. Upon honorable discharge in 1960, he began a 40+ year career with United Welding Processes in Lynn.

He enjoyed cycling and running and completed many marathons including several Boston Marathons. He also had a passion for skiing and had great trips out west with his friends Clem, Peter and Danny. He loved hearing of the many adventures of his grandchildren and especially enjoyed cheering his grandsons on playing ice hockey. He was also very proud of his two tandem skydives at the ages of 70 and 75.

Surviving him in addition to his wife with whom they shared 57 years of marriage is a son, Larry Donovan and his wife, Kathryn, of Edmond, Okla., three daughters, Linda Donovan Garofalo and her husband, Mark, of Peabody, Diane Donovan DeLorenzo and her husband, Kevin, of Beverly and Caroline Donovan Curran and her husband, Michael, of Bedford, N.H., Henry is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Christopher Garofalo and his wife, Jennifer, Michelle Garofalo, Matthew Garofalo, Katelyn Donovan Cobb and her husband, Tony, Matthew Donovan and his wife, Hallie, Charlie DeLorenzo, Megan DeLorenzo, Molly DeLorenzo, Michael Curran III and Emily Curran, four great-grandchildren, Grace and William Garofalo, Dean Henry Donovan and Bennett Cobb. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Ethel, and his best friend of many years, Chris Eliopoulos.

Robert D. Hanson, 86

LYNN Robert D. Hanson, “Mr. Ice,” 86, of Lynn, passed away at Care One Peabody on Aug. 20, 2016. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Sullivan) Hanson, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Salem on Aug. 5, 1930, Bob was the son of the late Justin and Regina (Doucette) Hanson. Raised and educated in Lynn, Bob graduated from Lynn English High School. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Bob served as a combat medic and Army Ranger. Honorably discharged in March 1957, Sgt. Hanson received two Bronze Service Stars, the Medical Badge and the United Nations Service Medal.

For 36 years, Bob worked for the MDC managing skating rinks, swimming pools and parks. In 1967, as the assistant manager of the Revere MDC Rink, he met his wife Patricia (Sullivan) Hanson. They married in 1970.

Bob loved living in Lynn and was proud to live and raise his family in the house his father built. An active member of the First Church of Christ in Lynn, Congregational, he was head of the Board of Deacons, church historian and church sexton. Bob was recognized for the witty/thought provoking messages he posted on the Lynnfield Street sign.

As a former semi-professional baseball player, Bob loved the Boston Red Sox and owned every copy of Who’s Who in Baseball. He always had a story to tell and truly appreciated the simple things in life, like a walk along Lynn Shore Drive or a hike in Lynn Woods.

Bob was the brother of the late Justin F. Hanson Jr. He leaves a sister, Virginia L. (Hanson) Healy of Danvers along with several nieces and a nephew. He was the proud father of two daughters, Amy L. Hanson-Kuleszka and her husband Michael Kuleszka of Lynn and Beth A. Hanson of Peabody. He will be greatly missed by his two grandsons, Mickey and Max Kuleszka.

Wanda L. Kneath, 73

LYNNWanda Lee (Carroll) Kneath, age 73 and a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 with her family by her side.

Born in Lampasas, Texas, on April 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edgar C. and Vada L. (Phears) Carroll. She was raised and educated in Texas. She met and married her sweetheart, Charles A. Kneath, in 1958 before eventually settling in Massachusetts in 1966. The couple met and married while Charles was serving in the armed services and they spent over 46 years in marriage together until Charles preceded her in death in April of 2005.

Wanda was employed for 25 years with Ocso Drug located on State Street in Lynn before her retirement. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed tending to her beautiful English tea garden as well as shopping around. She loved to be immersed in music and nothing was more important to her than spending time with her loving family.

Wanda is survived by her devoted children, Anna Marie Carroll of Lynn, Christopher Kneath of Colorado Springs, Colo., Barbara Kneath-Molinari of Lynn, Charles P. Kneath and his significant other, Lee-Ann Psheyouas of Lynn and David B. Kneath and his significant other, Kim Mello of Lynn; her loving grandchildren, Billy Molinari and his fiancé Jennifer Barrett of Lynn, Stephen Molinari of Lynn, Nick and Elizabeth Kneath of Wisconsin, Christopher Carroll and his fiancé Kerrie Howard of Swampscott, Tracie Velazquez and her husband Michael of Lynn and Stevie Carroll, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jessinia Lee Wyatt and Ava and Mila Rose. She is also survived by her siblings, Francis LaComb, Maryann Anderson and Sue Cormack and her husband Larry, all of Texas, as well as survived by many nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by four siblings.

Delma Mamos, 87

PEABODYDelma (Kefalas) Mamos, age 87, of Peabody, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Mamos, and the daughter of the late Nicholas and Angela (Sarandidis) Kefalas.

Born and raised in Lynn, she has lived in Lynn all her life. Educated in Lynn schools, Delma worked as a waitress for the Hilltop Restaurant in Saugus for over 35 years.

She was an avid Bingo player and Red Sox fan. She also loved music and dancing and traveling to Las Vegas with her daughters. Delma was vivacious and humorous. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and was a devoted caregiver to her beloved husband Nicholas of 56 years, throughout his illness.

She is survived by her children, Linda Mamos, Deborah Treisman and her husband Robert, and twins Diane Gianocostas and her husband Skip and James Mamos and his wife Denise; her grandchildren, Nicholas, James and Samantha Mamos, and the late Jennifer Gianocostas; and her sister, Esther Agganis. Delma also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rick, Jimmy and Arthur Kefalas.

LYNN — Mrs. Dorothea Marie “Dorothy” (LeBlanc) Gheringhelli, age 90, of Lynn, died on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Ret. Lynn Fire Dept. District Fire Chief Charles J. Gheringhelli, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Nahant on April 9, 1926, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Leo and Zella (Saulnier) LeBlanc. She was raised in Nahant and attended Nahant Public Schools. She graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1944 and moved to Lynn in 1948. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and her frequent visits to art museums. She would always help with the care of her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and support she provided to her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan Theresa Bastarache and her husband Donald, Judith Mary Harrington and her husband Michael, John William Gheringhelli, Thomas Joseph Gheringhelli and his wife Ann, Marie Louise McDermott and her husband Raymond and Charles John Gheringhelli Jr. and his wife Laureen, all of Lynn; her grandchildren, Laura Barr, Julie Bastarache, Stephen and Sean Harrington, Lisa Hamilton, Diane Gheringhelli, Ryan and Marc McDermott and Charles J. Gheringhelli III; her six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Francis LeBlanc of California, Eugene “Spike” LeBlanc of Nahant and Arthur LeBlanc of Saugus, and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She was the sister of the late John and Leo LeBlanc.

Rita J. Stier, 83

MIDDLETONRita J. Stier, 83, of Middleton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, after a brief illness.

Rita was born in Lynn on Dec. 29, 1932 to Frederick and Rita Carlson. She was married to the late Edward Stier, a former police officer and native of Lynn. She was a 1950 graduate of Lynn Classical High School and attended Burdett Business College.

Rita worked at General Electric in Lynn for 10 years as an administrative assistant and then left her career to start a family. She later lived in Lynnfield and spent summers with the family at their camp on Pine River Pond in Wakefield, N.H.

Rita is survived by her children, Carol Roy and her husband Timothy Roy of York, Maine, Joanne Davis of Newmarket, N.H., and her son Ronald Stier and his wife Audrey of Hampstead, N.H. She is predeceased by her son Robert of Nashville, Tenn. Rita also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Christie, Amanda, Erica, Erin, Eric and Melissa. Rita will be sadly missed by her sister, Claire Palumbo of Lynnfield  and her brother, Frederick (Babe) Carlson of Manchester, Conn. She is predeceased by her sister Joan Cantrell of Peabody and her brother John Carlson, formerly of Revere. Rita also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews.

Rita will be best remembered for her upbeat positive attitude toward life and her wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid listener of classic rock and jazz piano. Her family was most important to her and they will all miss her dearly.

LYNN — Mrs. Mary A. (Pappa) McGuire, 90 years, of Lynn, died on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 in Union Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. “Mickey” McGuire.

She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Phillip and Carmella (Rufo) Pappa. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. Mrs. McGuire lived in Lynn all of her life. She was a devoted wife and mother who collected Hummels, teddy bears and porcelain dolls.

Mrs. McGuire is survived by her daughter, Mary F. McGuire and her husband Douglas McTernan of Newburyport; her brother, Phillip Pappa Jr. of Peabody; her sisters, Antoinette Pappa of Lynn and Phyllis Cutone of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Constance Hughes, Josephine Evangelista, Viola Evangelista and Carmen Pappa.

Elizabethton, Tenn.Richard “Butchie” Parrish, 48, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, in the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born April 30, 1968, in Lynn, Massachusetts, he had lived in Elizabethton for a number of years.

He was the beloved son of Walter L. and Evelyn Richardson Parrish. He leaves behind four brothers, Kenneth Brown of Elizabethton, Alan Brown, Clayton Brown of Massachusetts and Ronald Parrish of Florida and two sisters, Donna Brown and Wanda Kilroy.

He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins he was very close to who will miss him greatly. The friends he leaves are countless and would fill a book. Especially Cindy, Marc, Helene, Paul, Dan, Jay, Mike and his God-son Marc.

He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time playing cards or just hanging with his friends in Lynn Woods. He loved swimming and horse shoes.

He was employed in painting and construction for many years until he became too ill to work. He loved to help people and loved animals, especially his dogs. He also belonged to The Responsible Dog Owners who fought against dog discrimination.

LynnMargaret Patricia (Smith) Reynolds-Cambece, at age 89 and a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Lynn on March 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Grace (Colby) Smith. Margaret was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1946. A warm and loving woman, Margaret will be missed by all of the many people she loved in her life.

Margaret is survived by her husband, John Cambece of Swampscott, her sons, Wayne Reynolds and his wife, Kris, of IL, Kevin Reynolds and his wife, Priscilla, of IL, and Kenneth Reynolds and his wife, Karen, of Seabrook, N.H., her grandchildren, Kerry, Shannon and Krystal Reynolds, Albert Young, and Michael, Jennifer and Christopher Reynolds, her great-grandson, Eric as well as her siblings, Grace Thompson and her late husband, Roger, and Alice Luongo and her husband, Jerry, as well as her sister-in-law, Beulah Williams-Smith and her brother-in-law, David Bidmead. Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Reynolds, her son, Albert Reynolds, her sister, Frances Coutreau and her late husband, Andrew, her brother, Robert Williams Smith, her sister, Claire Bidmead. Margaret was also survived by her husband’s children, Donna Censullo of Peabody, John Cambece of Rowley, Mark Cambece of Swampscott, and the late Darlene Cambece.

LynnMichael J. Cahill, age 45, of Lynn, died suddenly Aug. 23, at the Union Hospital.

Born in Salem the son of Ellen (Curren) Cahill and the late John E. Cahill. A lifelong Lynner, he attended Our Lady of the Assumption Grammar School and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He was employed at Garelick Farms for 13 years. He was a member of “A Friend of Bill W.” He was also an avid mountain biker and snowboarder. Michael also volunteered at My Brother’s Table in Lynn.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Shawn Cahill and his wife, Kathy, of Peabody and his sister, Ellen Cahill of Lynn, three nieces, Natasha Bissainthe, Alana and Ruby Cahill and his faithful dog, Brandy, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Margaret A. Salvucci, 89

SwampscottMargaret A. “Marnee” (Ryder) Salvucci, age 89, of Swampscott, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at the Bertram House in Swampscott following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Salvucci.

Born in Lynn on July 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Theresa (Callahan) Ryder. She was raised in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s Girl’s High School, Class of 1946. She moved to Swampscott in 1975.

Marnee was a beautiful seamstress who enjoyed crafts, ceramics, making stained glass windows and upgrading and remodeling homes. She enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties, snow mobiling, camping, cross country and downhill skiing and traveling everywhere with her husband. Marnee was devoted to her family and home. She was an active communicant of Holy Family Church in Lynn.

The Salvucci family would like to acknowledge the residents and staff of the Bertram House of Swampscott for the care and friendship given to Marnee over the years.

Marnee is survived by her two daughters, Maura Laudano and her husband, Andrew, of Swampscott and Diana Salvucci and her wife, Amy Sandlin, of Ft. Worth, Texas, her grandchildren, Kayla Donahue and her fiancé, Bryce McOsker, of East Boston,  Marielle Donahue of New York City and Emma Laudano of Swampscott, as well as two nieces. She was the sister of the late Edward “Wizzie” Ryder and the sister-in-law of the late Diane Salvucci and Arnold Salvucci.

CantonGloria E. Johnson, 75, of Canton, formerly of Lynn, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at her residence.

Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Raymond N. Johnson and Delima “Dell” (Noiseux) Johnson and was a graduate of Lynn English High School.

Gloria was employed by the City of Boston School Department as an office worker for 40 years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by one brother, Dennis R. Johnson Sr., of Everett, two nephews, Dennis R. Johnson Jr., of Everett, Kurt Gastonguay of South Dennis, a niece, Tina Johnson, of West Peabody, several cousins, including Jean Poirier of Beverly and Louise Lausier of Salem, and a sister-in-law, Sherrill Johnson of Everett.

Gloria previously resided in West Roxbury before moving to Canton, where she resided for most of her life.

PEABODYLori A. (Walsh) Auld, 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning Aug. 24, 2016, at her home, while in the comforting presence of her family, after a short illness.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of Janice A. (Pilling) Walsh of New Hampshire and the late William W. Walsh Sr. She grew up in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1981. She later studied at North Shore Community College. She moved to Peabody, where she lived for many years.

Lori was an office manager at Building Supply Outlet of Peabody for 21 years.

She was an avid fan and season ticket holder with the Boston Bruins. She loved traveling, camping and especially time spent with her nieces and nephews in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, especially North Conway.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Auld of Peabody, her longtime companion, Kevin Bailey, and his two sons, Scott and Paul Bailey of Peabody, a brother, William Walsh Jr., and his wife, Deborah, of Marlborough, two sisters, Cheryl Lavigne and her husband, Conrad, of Seabrook, N.H., and Catherine Bailey and her husband, William, of Peabody, and was a loving aunt to several nieces, nephews who were very special to her, and also several cousins. Besides her late father, William Walsh Sr., she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Walsh.

SAUGUS — Mr. Donald R. LeBlanc, age 85, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, surrounded by his family at the Hathorne Hill in Danvers. He was the husband of the late Janet M. (Jellison) LeBlanc.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Amedee and Bertha LeBlanc. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. Mr. LeBlanc worked as a production supervisor at General Electric in Lynn. He was a member of the Franco-American Club in Lynn. He was also a member of the St. Jean the Baptiste-St. Jean men’s choir, which sang for Pope John Paul at the Vatican. He had been a resident of Saugus since 1973.

Mr. LeBlanc leaves two daughters, Pamela Davey and her husband, Sean, of Hatfield, Laurel Lombardi and her husband, Mark, of Saugus, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert LeBlanc of Maine. He is predeceased by his daughter, Karen Danahy.

Elmer G. Twitchell, 91

LYNN and PATTEN, MAINEElmer G. Twitchell (Al) died peacefully in his sleep of old age on Aug. 26, 2016. Al was a popular resident of Herrick House, where he resided for the past 12 years. Al was the adored husband of Millie Twitchell whom he shared nearly 62 years of marriage.

Born Jan. 18, 1925, in Fairfield, Maine, he is the son of the late Gertrude and Carl Twitchell. Al retired from The GE in 1986 after having worked there for 40 years. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge in Maine. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed attending his ship reunions and reminiscing with his fellow veterans at Herrick House. Millie and Al enjoyed wintering in Florida and logged many miles traveling across the USA in their sunset years.

Al was predeceased by his wife, Millie, their beloved son, Robert Twitchell and their cherished grandson, Justin Twitchell. Al will be sadly missed by his children, Carol Endicott and her husband, Bill, of Eliot Maine, Susan Steinman and her husband, Warren, of Santa Fe, N.M., James Twitchell and his wife, Nada, of Redwood City, Calif., Mary Ann McGrath of Cornish, N.H., and their daughter-in-law, Elaine Twitchell of Quincy, and his six grandchildren, Christopher Blain, Ashley Twitchell, Samantha Twitchell, Shauna and Robert McGrath and Emma Steinman. Elmer is also survived by his sister, Jean Willette and her husband, Clarence, of Florida and his devoted brother- and sister in-law, Pat and John Teague of Lynn. He will also be missed by his good and lifelong friends Hope and Frank Nerden of Danvers, and his many nieces and nephews.

Service information: Elmer’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Route 129, Lynn, at 12 noon with visiting hours from 9 a.m., to 12 p.m., immediately beforehand. Janice B. Greeley, 72

LYNN — Janice B. (Ross) Greeley, age 72 and a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away in the Exeter Hospital in Exeter, N.H., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.

Born in Chelsea, Jan was the daughter of the late Lorey W. and Anna May (Souza) Ross. She was raised and educated in Lynn. Jan worked for many years as a waitress and food server for area restaurants including Lori Lee’s as well as the Capital Diner. More recently, she worked as a concierge specialist for Crystal Cove in Weymouth until her retirement in June of 2016.

Jan had many passions in life but nothing compared to her love for camping. A 40 year veteran of both camping and fishing, she loved spending time in Mill Brook RV Park in Kingston, N.H. Jan was also artsy and loved to craft. She also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods to play the slots as well as the occasional Keno wager.

A warm and kind woman, Jan will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas F. Greeley, with whom she spent over 40 years in love together until Tom’s passing in July of 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Chalmers and her significant other, Keith Guerreiro, of Maine, Kelly Greenwell and her husband, Rick, of Michigan, Cathy Ringle of Chelmsford, and Bobbi Tremblay and her significant other, James Dionne of Peabody. Janice was Nana to: Lyndsey, Tom, Art, Justin, Aaron, Adam and Alex, and Great-Nana to: Paxton, Michael and Madison. She also leaves her brothers: Richard Ross of Texas and Earl Ross of Lynn, her very dear friends: Barbara Ross of Lynn and James Houde of Hudson, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jan was also preceded in death by her siblings: Everett Ross, Bobby Ross and Doody McCarthy.

Service information: A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 3-6:30 p.m. Interment services will be held privately. SwampscottLillian (Sher) Sugarman, of Swampscott, formerly of Lynn, entered into rest on Aug. 29, 2016, at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Sydney Sugarman.

Lillian was a strong believer in education, graduating from Radcliffe College in 1937. In recent years, Lillian was the oldest alumnae at the Harvard Commencement ceremonies. She led a very sociable life with many friends and relatives. She attended The Boston Symphony for nearly 70 years, was a pianist, a member of three bridge clubs, and a long-standing member of the Marblehead YMCA. Lillian loved spending time with family and friends.

Devoted mother of Nancy Cahn and her husband, Arthur, of Carmichael, Calif., and Paul Sugarman and his wife, Karen, of Scottsdale, Ariz. Loving sister of the late Hyman Sher and Sylvia Kramer. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie Cahn and Peter Cahn. Loving step-grandmother of Christopher Jones. Beloved great-grandmother of Wyatt, Casey, Timothy and Brendan.

Dump truck takes a plunge into Goldfish Pond

Photo by Lisa Mahmoud LYNN — Police reported this dump truck ended up in Goldfish Pond shortly before 3 a.m. on Tuesday. The truck was towed out at daylight with no reports of injury or damage. Police were not immediately sure how the vehicle ended up in the East Lynn pond.

Donald J. Whorf Sr., 86

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz.Donald (Don) J. Whorf Sr., age 86, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., (formerly of Lynn), died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late June Drusilla (Burgess) Whorf, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn on Feb. 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Agnes (Manning) Whorf. He was born and raised in Lynn, working at the GE in Lynn for 22 years until his retirement at which time he moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

Don was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he was a Corporal serving in the 187th Regimental Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division. He was also a cook for General Westmoreland during part of this time.

Don is survived by his children, Drusilla (Dru) Madruga of Lynn, Gerald (Jay) Whorf and Wendy Paul of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and David Whorf of New Mexico, and the late Donald J. Whorf Jr., of Lake Havasu City, as well as eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen Clarke, 58

HARWICH — Mary Ellen (Andros) Clarke, 58, of Harwich, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27, surrounded by her family following a 2.5 year battle with cancer.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1957, in Lynn to the late James S. Andros and Ellen (Canaris) Andros. Mary graduated from Lynn English High School in 1975 and from the University of Lowell in 1979.

Mary was the loving wife of John H. Clarke of Harwich for 29 years. She was a wonderful mother to her two children, James M. Clarke of Harwich and Christine E. Clarke of Washington, D.C. She is the beloved sister of Diane Donahue and Cynthia Worthylake, both of Lynn, and Carol Cahill of Peabody. She leaves behind an extensive network of family and friends.

Mary devoted her life to raising her family. She also touched many lives through her volunteer work in the Town of Harwich. For the past eight years, Mary found joy in her work as a manager at Consigning Women which she called her “happy place.” Mary will be remembered for her selfless and positive spirit that radiated kindness, warmth and love.

Mary’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Dana Farber, Brigham & Women’s and Cape Cod Hospitals for their exceptional care.

Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, from 4-7 p.m., at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 678 Main St., Harwich Center.
