William N. LeBlanc, 84

LYNN — Mr. William Norman LeBlanc, 84, of Lynn formerly of Salem, beloved husband of Patricia A. (Gagnon) LeBlanc, died Saturday evening, Aug. 20, 2016, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Casavant) LeBlanc. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Vocational and Technical School.

An honorably discharged veteran, William served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War as a member of the 2nd, 3rd and 11th Armored Calvary.

William dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. He spent his professional career as a Police Officer and member of the Town of Saugus Police Department for over 28 years until the time of his retirement. He had also been employed as a baker at the former chestnut St. Bake Shop in Lynn.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, William enjoyed spending his time playing bingo and traveling with his beloved wife. He was an avid gardener known for his robust and amazing tomatoes that he shared with family and friends. He was an award winning competitive candlepin bowler for many years. Above all else he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

William is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Gagnon) LeBlanc of Lynn, his sons, Norman LeBlanc and his wife, Laurie, of Lyman, Maine, and Brian LeBlanc of Danvers, his grandchildren, Brian LeBlanc of Danvers and Zoie LeBlanc of Lyman, Maine, his sister, Patricia McDonald and her husband, P.J., of Lynn and his brother, Donald LeBlanc of Hollywood, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maurice, Robert and Joseph LeBlanc Jr.

Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held graveside in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St., Salem, Thursday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held following the service at Brian’s home, 9 Tibbets Ave., Danvers, beginning at 12 Noon. All are invited to attend. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bill’s memory to the Salvation Army, North Shore Corps, 93 North St., Salem, MA 01970.
