SAUGUS — Mr. John T. Coburn age 80, died on Friday at the Mass General Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Joan (Whitten) Coburn.
Born and raised in Chelsea, Mr. Coburn was the son of the late Frederick and Catherine (Linehan) Coburn. He attended St. Rose Elementary School in Chelsea and is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Lynn, Class of 1953. He worked many years as a chef at the Montvale Plaza and previously worked for H.P. Hood as a Milk Man.
Besides his wife he is survived by six children, Catherine Dotolo and her husband, William, John F. Coburn and his wife, Karen, Patrick Coburn and his wife, Mary Ellen, all of Saugus, Frederick Coburn of Winthrop, Timothy Coburn and his wife, Janice Forti, of Lynnfield and Kelly Ferretti and her husband, Arthur, of Georgetown. One sister, Mary Stewart of Lynn, 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
