LYNN — Helen M. (Haddon) Wood, 93, passed away peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, Friday, July 7, 2017. She was the wife of the late John Wood Jr., who passed in 1990.
Born in Rumford, Maine, on Sept. 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Hassett) Haddon. Helen was lifelong resident of Lynn. She was a longtime active member of the former Wesley United Methodist Church, now Grace United Methodist Church.
She loved working in her home and in her gardens, but her greatest love was spending time with her family and doing for others.
She is survived by her two sons, William Wood and his wife Nancy and David Wood, all of Peabody; four grandchildren, Crystal VerPlanck her husband Sam of Woodbridge, Va., Adam Wood his wife Victoria of Lynn, Ryan Wood of Philadelphia, Pa., and Christian Wood of Boston; two great-grandchildren, Raeley Grace VerPlanck and Austin William VerPlanck; sister-in-law, Dolores Haddon of Lynn; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Richard Haddon and her sister, Ruth (Haddon) Turner.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the CAMPBELL Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, from 4-7 p.m., followed by a service at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
