LYNN Mr. Kenneth S. Estes, age 93, of Lynn died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, peacefully after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Margaret (Sherber) Estes, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy Sybil Estes. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1941 and a member of Local 103 I.B.E.W. Boston for 67 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, Company B, 248th Engineer Combat Battalion. He served in the European Theater of Combat where his battalion was awarded four battle stars. He was a DAV member of Sgt. Gaurteau Post 635 and a member of Baystate Lodge #40 Odd Fellows of Lynn. He enjoyed travelling, gardening, fishing and time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Ken leaves a daughter, Cindy Weeks and her husband, Kenny of Lynnfield; a son, Kenneth “Chick” Estes and his wife, Donna of Lynn; a daughter, Linda Marnell and her husband, Ted of Peabody. He also leaves six grandchildren: Nicole and Cameron Weeks, Gracelyn and Delaine Estes, and Craig and Ashley Marnell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Forbes.

Service information: Visiting Hours will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, July 1, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 74 So.
