LYNN — A group of local business owners have joined forces to prepare a day-long event that will highlight products, services and activities that promote physical, emotional, financial, spiritual and social wellness.
The Spring Into Wellness Expo will be held this Sunday from 1-4 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 177 Lynnfield St. Adult admission is $5, children are free.
There will be raffles, refreshments, demonstrations and facials available throughout the day. A fashion show, featuring seniors from Lynn Classical High School, is also scheduled. Local businesses will have representatives on site to answer questions regarding the services and products offered.
Participants include Cakes by Omy, Bodilife Personal Training, Annmarie Jonah Realtors and Beachbody Coaching, along with many other local businesses. Services available will include personal training, yoga, beauty and fitness, as well as banking and real estate.
Sean McCarthy of Salem Five Bank, Angela Mikedis, owner of Salon 234 on Lynnfield Street, and Carrie Nicosia of Rodan and Fields Skincare, will be the event coordinators.
“My hope is this event gives people an opportunity to seek a wellness balance between fun, work and health in their lives,” Nicosia said. “It is a chance to ask ourselves what we can do to improve in these areas.
Nicosia also said she’s looking forward to the event, and would love to see it become an annual event if it’s successful.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization and local affiliate of the National Girls Inc. program. The organization provides both educational and social programs, as well as resources to elementary, middle school, and high school-aged girls throughout the community.
“We are also happy to be helping out Girls Inc., and are hoping this brings the community together for a wonderful cause,” Nicosia said. “Be strong, smart and bold” is the Girls Inc. motto.”
