LYNN — Mrs. Jean J. (Maribito) Furey, age 82, a lifelong resident Lynn, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Furey with whom she shared more than 40 years of marriage.
Born and educated in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Nancy (Rando) Maribito. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1952 and Booth Memorial Nursing School. She enjoyed the beach and most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean was the loving mother of Lawrence Furey, William Furey and his wife, Lynn, Ginamarie Furey, and Tina Alvarado and her husband, John J. Dembowski, all of Lynn; the dear sister of Thomas Maribito of Lynn, and the late Vincent, Joseph and Frank Maribito; the cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Service information: A Memorial funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Jan. 11, at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn. Relatives and friends invited. There will be no visiting hours. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
