Accidents
A report of a motor vehicle accident at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday on Intrepid Circle; at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant and Lafayette streets. One caller reported a large truck was stuck on a traffic island, while another caller stated the truck went across the wrong lane and struck a couple of signs. The driver was slumped over the wheel and was taken to Salem Hospital.

A report of a lost bag at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday on Cliff Street. A man reported he was walking and someone took off with his toolbag. The person stated that someone in a trailer took off with it and he tried chasing the vehicle with no luck.
A man reported he was playing basketball at Seaside Park and he was approached by a couple of high school aged kids who stole his basketball and took off at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday on Wyman Road. He ran after them and caught up and stated that they called him names, swore at him, and used homophobic slurs towards him. He was able to get the plate number of the motor vehicle and description before they took off. An officer reported there were three men. One of them yelled the slurs and threw the basketball down the street so the man reporting the incident had to chase it.
A report of a road rage incident at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Atlantic and Clifton avenues. A woman reported that as she was driving, she noticed an “older, gold colored Honda CRV” tailgating her. She stated that at the time, she was behind a landscaper truck that was going slower than the speed limit and she was giving them space. She said that at one point, the driver of the Honda had to “stop short” because they were “following too closely.” She stated that when she attempted to go home, she noticed the driver was “following her.” She pulled over a couple of streets from her house and told police that’s when the driver of the Honda pulled up next to her and “screamed what the (expletive) do you think you are doing?”
